Anna May Pacana Campo.
supposed to be, my name has an
Erica
on it, but, unfortunately, it wasn't written in my birth certificate, anyway,i'd have to live with it. i've no choice, aren't i ? *am i making sense here?*

I made THIS blog because it's one of the many requirements i had have to obey back then. but, later on, i realize, what the heck ! i can write here all my anecdotes in life. meaning, so-so. XD. for this, im grateful for the professor who came up with the idea that we must had a BLOGGER, though, i want to strangle his neck for doing so. this kind of stuff is just so expensive and i'd rather buy my collectibles pocketbooks than to post blah-blah here.

anyhow, somewhere in the middle of my anik-anik, THis site cross into my mind, but because im such a lazy-bug, i just throw it, rather, i deleted the thought kinda quickly.

i have this frustration to write, write, write and write. so, *writers block* grrrrr !

 The web is more and more a technological basis for the information and knowledge society.
 The impact they have on the way our society works is tremendous.
 Their role and potential has just been discovered and is bound to further increase in the course of the time.

2.1 Wiki

 Wiki or “wiki wiki” means quick in Hawaiian.

WARD CUNNINGHAM
 Designer of the said cite from Portland.
 Described wiki as:
“ the simplest online database that could possibly work”.

“CamelCase”
> describes link to other pages
> specialty of a wiki-syntax

. Important features of wiki:

 A sophisticated version control which enables users to see recent changes and the history of the changes of a Web page.
 Wiki page makes sure that there are cross links between pages in wiki.
 The old version of wiki page can easily be reconstructed by the use of version control.

An experience worth remembering...

An Experience Worth Remembering…It’s good to have this kind of learning.Fun and thorough. It can stress your mind from thinking, but nevertheless, the experience that I had is all worth the stress, time, and money.
Nature and Focus-> to let my attention focus on the community.-> it widened my knowledge and expanded my vocabulary.-> it gives me a lot of responsibilities that I should make.-> it gives me the strength and courage to use more about innovative learning.

Educational Technology Is..?-> Exciting, fun, interesting-> Expensive, and-> Need enough time.
As a Blogger…-> Thrilled at the idea that I can create my own blog.-> I composes my own idea and words.-> Nervous that I can’t do things right the way it is, and lastly,-> It’s fun to design my blog as what I want it to be.

As a Ning Student…??-> It enhances my ability to read faster, but accurately and precisely.-> It help’s me to find out that it’s easy to make comments when you’re mind is really into
As a Wiki Spacer…-> It enhances my capability to read and follow directions.-> It developed my ability to browse and browse until I found what I have been looking for.
Disadvantages…???-> it cost me a lot of money.-> I don’t have mu own computer to use when it’s time for online net.-> sometimes, I forgot to eat first.
Advantages…-> it developed my skills to surf, type, and read.-> it never makes me bored.-> it helps learning to become easier and fun.

My Experiences…..-> educational technology is an interesting subject.-> it’s fun to use-> it taught me how to use more on advance technologies.

So far, even though it’s hustle because I don’t have my own computer, it’s good that I am able to do it my own way. It helps my skills to grow on how to run the computer without asking the administrator. Another is, it taught me on how to stand all by myself to answer the given questions on the given data.

what is meaningful learning?

Meaningful learning refers to the concept that the learned knowledge is fully understood by the individual and that the individual knows how that specific fact relates to other stored facts.

What drives learning?

Ø It is the understanding of and effort , invested in completing a task or activity.

Ø It is the nature of the task that students . intend to perform that will best determine the nature of the learning that results.

Tasks that require. intentional,. active, constructive, cooperative, and authentic learning processes will result in more meaningful learning.

tests assess skills

Ø The testing process is individual, so students are enjoined from cooperating with others.

Ø The tests represent only a single form of knowledge representation, so students are not able to develop conceptual understanding, which requires representing what you know in multiple ways.

Simply stated, learning to take tests does not result in meaningful learning.

q In order for students to learn meaningfully, they must be willfully engaged in a meaningful task.

q In order for meaningful learning to occur, the task that students pursue should engage active, constructive, intentional, authentic, and cooperative activities.

Active (Manipulative/Observant)

v Learning is a natural, adaptive human process.

v Humans have survived and therefore evolved because they were able to learn about and adapt to their environment.

v humans interact with their environment and manipulate the objects in their environment.

Meaningful learning requires learners who are active-actively engaged by a meaningful task in which they manipulate objects and parameters of the environment they are working in and observing the results of their manipulations.

Constructive (Articulative/ Reflective)

Ø Activity is necessary but not sufficient for meaningful learning.

Ø It is essential that learners articulate what they have accomplished and reflect on their activity and observations-to learn the lessons that their activity has to teach.

Ø New experiences often provide a discrepancy between what learners observe and what they understand.

->The active and constructive parts of the meaning making process are symbiotic.
->They both rely on the other for meaning making to occur

SONA OF PRESIDENT NOY AQUINO: my comment

P-NOY had his State Of The Nation Address (SONA) later this afternoon. he discovered so many things within the administration of our ex-president Arroyo.
He's honest of saying that the Philippines has already no much account of money. But, instead of discouraging people, he announced that we, the Filipino can make it big if we work together hand in hand. Another is, he declared that many private sectors offered him a lot of visions already, though he didn't say he accepted, but i guess he'll think all over about it. he also promised that, the he'll add more classrooms in those public schools that is deficit in that area.
another thing is, he didnt left mindanaoan people disappointed. his words are clear, understandable, enough for every filipino soar and dream high once again.

MY PERSONAL VIEW OF LEARNING COMMUNITY

INTRODUCTION

Learning is an act or process of acquiring knowledge or skill. To acquire knowledge, one must have the eagerness to achieve his/her goal.
Learning is a continuous and a life-long process. A facilitative learning environment has a big impact on the students. Pine and Horne (1990) described that a learning environment must encourage people to be active. It permits confrontation. Which people feel they’re respected and well accepted, and it also recognizes people’s right to commit mistake.
Learning community is the place where teaching and learning can take place in the most effective and productive manner. It consists of all instructional features and non-threatening classroom climate needed in planning and implementing all teaching and learning activities. (Corpuz and Salandanan, 2003)

BODY

A learning community is made up of people who share ideas and purpose. It is also conducive area for the learner who wants to learn more. Conducive area must have a proper ventilation, lightning, well-arranged chairs, safest place to study and a friendly environment. It is where the child can focus more to his study, learn more about self-disclosure and practice his social skills. It builds the confidence of the learner, their potentials will be enhanced and a big possibility that new knowledge will be created.
(Yarnit, 2000, p.11) A learning community addresses the learning needs of its locality through partnership. It uses the strength of social and institutional relationships to bring about cultural shifts in perceptions of the value of learning. Learning communities explicitly use learning as a way of promoting social cohesion, regeneration and economic development which involves all parts of the community.
Without the facilitator, which is the adults and the community, a learning community will not be conducive as what we have expected. To achieve the goal that were trying to have, unity and sticking together will develop the capacity to work harmoniously towards each other. It promotes the school’s name for a good cause.
Another definition of learning community is from Department of Education, 2003, p.12, says:
“Learning community is developed where groups of people, linked geographically or by shared interest, collaborate and work in partnership to address their members learning needs. Learning communities facilitated through adult and community education are a powerful tool for social cohesion, community capacity building and social, cultural and economic development”
Simply put, the learning community is embodied largely on the school itself. The institution offers different courses to the students ought to lean from their different fields of interests. When a child enrolls to a specific course, he or she is joined by different persons with the same interest and will be educated by a teacher who is well-versed with the course.
“A learning community is any one of a variety of curricular structures that link together several existing courses- or actually restructure the curricular material entirely- so that students have opportunities for deeper understanding of and integration of the material they are learning, and more interaction with one another and their teachers as fellow participants in the learning enterprise” ( Gabelnick, Maegregor, Matthews & Smith, 1990, p.19)
The foundations of a good learning community are the teachers. A teacher with different perspective is drawn into a single body with the aim to educate. They teach courses, relevant to their specialty. Together with the other educators, they form a curriculum to mold a student to a much effective person with their potential fully developed.
Falk & Kilpatrick, 2000: Field and Spence, 2000 adheres that:
Learning communities are made up of people who share a common purpose. They collaborate to draw individual strengths, respect a variety of perspective, and actively promote learning opportunities. The outcomes are the creation of vibrant, synergistic environment, enhanced potential for all members, and the possibility that new knowledge will be created. Learning through interactions with others in a learning community can build social capital defined as norms, values and networks that can be used for mutual benefit.

CONCLUSION

Through this, learning community has much to give and offer for the learner. It recognizes the importance of interactions between the others. It respects a variety of thoughts and ideas. They value the credibility of each individual. And lastly, it promotes a more purposeful vibrant knowledge to each and everyone.
Learning community often described as a community wherein the learner can be educated. It composes of environment, educators and learners. It facilitates the learning needs of everyone. Such as, enhancing the skills and talents, providing a better future, developing a new you, concealing of oneself. Another is they give more opportunities who’ll knock right in front of your door for a deeper understanding. Interacting with your fellow classmates, schoolmates, friends and teachers. Building the confidence that some don’t have much, sharing a common purpose to have a sufficient knowledge and skills in this complex world that we have.
Giving the best of shot in your life is not when we are learning, it is when we’re starting earning money with our own fully developed skills and broaden knowledge. All the things that the learning community has given is just an example on how we would deal with our own lives later own.

Educational technology is intended to improve education over what it would be without technology. Some of the claimed benefits are listed below:

  • Easy-to-access course materials. Instructors can post the course material or important information on a course website, which means students can study at a time and location they prefer and can obtain the study material very quickly[11]
  • Student motivation. Computer-based instruction can give instant feedback to students and explain correct answers. Moreover, a computer is patient and non-judgmental, which can give the student motivation to continue learning. According to James Kulik, who studies the effectiveness of computers used for instruction, students usually learn more in less time when receiving computer-based instruction and they like classes more and develop more positive attitudes toward computers in computer-based classes[12]
  • Wide participation. Learning material can be used for long distance learning and are accessible to a wider audience[13]
  • Improved student writing. It is convenient for students to edit their written work on word processors, which can, in turn, improve the quality of their writing. According to some studies, the students are better at critiquing and editing written work that is exchanged over a computer network with students they know[11]
  • Subjects made easier to learn. Many different types of educational software are designed and developed to help children or teenagers to learn specific subjects. Examples include pre-school software, computer simulators, and graphics software[12]
  • A structure that is more amenable to measurement and improvement of outcomes. With proper structuring it can become easier to monitor and maintain student work while also quickly gauging modifications to the instruction necessary to enhance student learning.

"this is the newly topic that has been discussed by this week and students must have to comment regarding about this issue and here's mine:

"educational technology can really improve the education in the Philippines. I highly agreed to this one. It can be easily access by the students, more learning, more fun. Learning in online is fun, it can help students maintain their adrenaline to study, it can motivate them more to search new files, new sites and many more. We, students, are highly favorable for having this kind of subject for it can help us to fully understand the subjects that we find quiet difficult. There is more than helping us to do research in educational technology, it can enhance our knowledge, widened our vocabulary, and most of all, it can made us participate even if we don't want to.I can only agree that the educational technology benefited all of the students who studied it."
